I took my daughter to see Joan Jett at the Lane County Fair in 2010. We waited at the stage all day so we could be front row for the show. Laurie came up, stood by us and gave her name to security, so she could say hi to Joan Jett. My daughter and a friend approached Laurie, spoke with her, and got a picture with her. She was very friendly. The girls were so excited. We had no idea she lived in our area. We were so sad to hear of her passing.

Laurie McAllister is the softest memory on Runaways — she was like a breeze, refreshing all that heavy mood in the last days of the band. Her work in The Orchids set up her talent forever. Rest in Peace, sweet orchid. We love you.

    Hey,
My condolences. Since seeing Joan and the Blackhearts in Joplin my appreciation for your music is alot greater. God bless. I hope the future is free from tragedy.
