Sandy West 1959-2006
In 1976, The Runaways released their first album, and Sandy West
began to entertain and inspire a legion of fans. Throughout her life and career, she maintained her passion for music and a deep love for her friends and fans. She died on October 21, 2006, after a long battle with cancer.
This site is designed to show Sandy, her fans, her friends and even casual observers what a special person Sandy was. You can find information on the December, 2006 Celebration, read the Thoughts of some fans, friends and fellow musicians, and otherwise reflect on Sandy's life and career. Hi - I'm Sandy's oldest sister and tonight I had the strength to read some more thoughts about my little "sis" without bursting into tears. This has been the saddest time of my life but the outpouring of love from her fans is like a "miracle drug" and I can't thank you enough for taking the time to post your stories, poems and feelings about Sandy. She and I had a very "close" connection from day one and sadly she was taken from us all much too soon.
