Laurie Hoyt-McAllister, the last bassist for The Runaways and bassist for The Orchids, passed away on August 25th, 2011. Our greatest sympathy goes out to Laurie’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.

On February 14, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will open the exhibit “Girls on Film: 40 Years of Women in Rock,” featuring images of Joan Jett from 1982. Then opening May 13, the “Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power” exhibit will highlight the women who moved rock and roll music featuring Joan Jett artifacts and clothing and Joan Jett and Cherie Currie artifacts and clothing from The Runaways.
